I bought my first bunches of daffs today, as my yellow tulips were shedding their petals.
Pearl is crashed out in the background after a mammoth walk this morning. So much for good weather today. It started beautifully, then blackened, then rained, then snowed and now we're back to glorious sunshine. We took our chances and luck was with us on our walk and both dogs are now pooped. I was quite excited when it started to snow, as it was the first we've seen this winter. I so wished it hadn't rained and the snow had settled for a few hours. I do suffer from snow envy when I read other blogs and see shots of pure white fairy tale beauty. Ah well.
Valentine's day is looming. I don't know how you feel about it, but over the years, I've come to view it as another consumerist activity that guilts people into spending money. Basically, me and the Mr. tell each other numerous times a day that we love each other....sorry if that makes you want to barf, but it's just how we roll in the shires! He used to present me with flowers, out of the blue, which was lovely, but we ended up agreeing that for the price of a good bunch of blooms, we could have a decent take-out. Yes, we love each other, but our romance is now food based!
Mr. was given an £25.00 M & S gift voucher this week by a lovely customer of ours, which we thought we'd spend on their Valentines meal deal. I've looked up the choices online, and they're not bad. They also include a bottle of plonk or fizz, so that's us sorted for Val's day. No cards, although for a few years we made each other cards, just for a laugh. You know, I have some craft card somewhere, so I might get all arty and make him one as a surprise!
