WRESTLING UNICORNS
My gorgeous girl's partner has a daughter that loves unicorns! Well she is seven, so that's fair. I, in my infinite wisdom, decided it would be a good idea to crochet one for her, as a Christmas present. I have only been crocheting for three years and have never attempted a toy. The unicorn I found, that looked like it might be up my street for it's simplicity, was Twinkle-toes, a free pattern from Hobbycraft.
Now excuse the pun, but I'm hooked! I was so excited once I'd finished the head, which I had to wrestle inside out, as I had been crocheting in the front loop of every stitch instead of through both (don't know why). The head did look a little weird but I was fairly confident it would be ok once stuffed. Of course once I'd started crocheting this way, I felt I had to continue and all parts had to be turned inside out. The horn and ears were the most fiddly, but I really enjoyed the crocheting.
Ignore Edward's Menagerie.... I was getting ahead of myself and looking for my next project before finishing this one!
I will keep you posted on TT's progress. In the meantime, some not so brilliant pics of the beautiful sunset this evening, taken on our dog walk.
Oh, yes, and we had the Waterboard spending the day digging up the road outside the house for the fourth time and still they can't find our external stopcock... they will be back apparently, but I won't hold my breath for a result!
